Buffalo Man Arrested for Cocaine Possession
BUFFALO, N.Y. – A 37-year-old Buffalo man was arrested and charged with cocaine possession and firearm charges after a loaded handgun and suspected cocaine were found in his residence.
Adrian Funderburk, 37, was taken into custody on January 6, 2021, after the Buffalo Police Department, with assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, executed a state search warrant at his residence on Wecker Street in Buffalo.
During the search, investigators recovered a loaded .40 caliber pistol, approximately one ounce of suspected cocaine, a quantity of suspected marijuana, and approximately $81,000 in cash.
Funderburk made an initial appearance today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy and was released on conditions.
The charges against Funderburk carry a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison and a $1,000,000 fine.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles E. Watkins, the complaint is the result of an investigation by the Buffalo Police Department, under the direction of Commissioner Byron Lockwood, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge John B. Devito.
