Agustin Jaime Enriquez-Jimenez, Methamphetamine Distribution, Nebraska 2023

A 44-year-old Omaha man, Agustin Jaime Enriquez-Jimenez, has been sentenced for his role in distributing methamphetamine in the city.

According to court documents, Enriquez-Jimenez was found in possession of 50 grams or more of actual methamphetamine, a serious offense that comes with severe penalties.

Senior United States Senior District Judge Laurie Smith Camp handed down a 70-month prison sentence to Enriquez-Jimenez, with no chance of parole in the federal system.

He will also serve five years of supervised release following his release from prison, a significant period of time that will give authorities a chance to monitor his activities.

In addition to his prison term and supervised release, Enriquez-Jimenez must forfeit $10,229 in U.S. currency to the government, a significant amount of money that was seized during a search of his residence.

The investigation that led to Enriquez-Jimenez’s arrest and conviction was conducted by the Omaha Police Department, who worked tirelessly to gather evidence and build a strong case against the defendant.

The controlled buys of methamphetamine from Enriquez-Jimenez, conducted with the assistance of a confidential informant, were a crucial part of the investigation.

The search of Enriquez-Jimenez’s residence on October 16, 2018, yielded over ten ounces of methamphetamine and the seized currency, further evidence of his involvement in the distribution of the deadly substance.

Enriquez-Jimenez’s sentence is a stark reminder of the serious consequences of engaging in methamphetamine distribution, a crime that has devastating effects on individuals and communities.
