PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Akron’s Charles Woods, 67, has been locked up for 46 months after his conviction for conspiring to distribute and distributing methamphetamine.
The harsh sentence was imposed by United States District Judge Christy Criswell Wiegand following a probe that tied Woods to a trafficking ring spanning from Ohio to Pennsylvania.
Law enforcement’s relentless pursuit led to the seizure of nearly 294 grams of pure poison from Woods’ residence. The court heard that Woods, over five months, dealt between 500 grams and 1.5 kilograms of the deadly substance.
Assistant United States Attorney Rebecca L. Silinski was on point for the prosecution, ensuring justice was served.
Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti lauded Homeland Security Investigations, the United States Postal Inspection Service, and the Pennsylvania State Police for their pivotal roles in bringing Woods to justice.
The sentence serves as a stark reminder of the consequences faced by those who peddle death in the form of methamphetamine across our nation’s streets.
