⏱ 2 min read

Brandon Dolly, a 23-year-old from Akron, Ohio, was sentenced to over 12 years in prison for his role in a child pornography ring. In January 2025, FBI agents launched an investigation into social media accounts suspected of trading child sexual abuse materials (CSAM), which led them to Dolly. A search warrant was executed at his Akron residence, uncovering thousands of CSAM images on his electronic devices. Dolly pleaded guilty in March to receiving, distributing, and possessing CSAM.

The investigation, led by the FBI Akron Resident Agency and the Akron Police Department, found that Dolly had been actively receiving and distributing CSAM from October 2023 through March 2025. His devices contained approximately 29,788 child sexual abuse images, making him a significant player in the child pornography epidemic.

Dolly’s sentence includes 151 months in prison, 10 years of supervised release, and registration as a sex offender. He was also ordered to pay $46,500 in restitution to victims and $15,200 in special assessments. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Joseph P. Dangelo as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.

The outcome of this case serves as a reminder of the importance of reporting child exploitation and the need for continued efforts to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual abuse. Project Safe Childhood is led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices throughout the country and works to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the internet.
