A 26-year-old Ohio babysitter, Molly Elisabeth Duncan, has been sentenced to 70 years in prison for sexually abusing two toddlers in her care. The abuse occurred in Portage County and Geauga County, both in Northeast Ohio, between November 2023 and July 2024. Duncan worked as a nanny for the victims’ families and used her position to exploit and abuse the children, who were both under the age of two. The motive behind the abuse was to produce child pornography, which Duncan shared with other individuals on social media.
According to court documents, Duncan recorded the abuse on her cellphone and shared the videos with others who had a sexual interest in children. A forensic analysis of her electronic devices revealed multiple files of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) featuring the two minor victims.
The investigation was led by the Cleveland Field Office of Homeland Security Investigations, with assistance from the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Duncan pleaded guilty in April to two counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children, Distribution of Visual Depictions of Minors Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct, and Possession of Child Pornography.
In addition to her 70-year prison sentence, Duncan was ordered to serve 25 years of supervised release and pay $20,000 towards the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act and $8,000 towards the Amy, Vicky, and Andy Child Pornography Assistance Act.
The sentence was imposed by U.S. District Judge Pamela A. Barker on July 22, bringing an end to a horrific case of child exploitation and abuse.
