Brandon Bartley, Drug & Gun Trafficking, New York 2024

ALBANY, NEW YORK – In a stunning turn of events, 26-year-old Brandon Bartley of Albany has admitted to his role in a massive drug and firearms trafficking operation. Today, the gritty criminal faced justice as he pleaded guilty to a litany of charges, including conspiracy to distribute cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl, and possession of over 30 firearms.

Bartley’s guilty plea stems from his activities at his Western Avenue apartment in Albany, where authorities uncovered more than 400 grams of fentanyl pills, over 7,000 grams of meth pills, and more than 700 grams of cocaine. Among the arsenal discovered was a loaded Glock, which Bartley used to protect his illegal drugs and profits.

United States Attorney Carla B. Freedman, along with DEA Special Agent in Charge Frank A. Tarentino III and ATF Special Agent in Charge Bryan Miller, announced Bartley’s plea deal. Sentencing is set for September 12, 2024, where the defendant faces a minimum of 15 years to life in prison, fines reaching up to $10 million, and a supervised release term that could last as long as his prison sentence.

The grim details of Bartley’s case don’t end with him alone. Anthony Luizzi, Jabree Jones, and Devon Newsome have also been charged in connection with the investigation. Luizzi pleaded guilty to related charges and is awaiting sentencing, while Jones and Newsome face their own legal battles regarding drug violations and firearms offenses.

Investigating agencies include the DEA, ATF, Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, U.S. Department of Labor Inspector General, and Henry County Police Department in Georgia. Assistant U.S. Attorney Alexander Wentworth-Ping is leading the prosecution against Bartley.
