ALBUQUERQUE – Jerry Bezie, a 36-year-old Albuquerque drug kingpin, has been sentenced to over 20 years in federal prison for his role in a massive fentanyl and methamphetamine trafficking ring. The sentence, which includes no parole under the federal system, comes after law enforcement uncovered a stash of drugs worth hundreds of thousands of dollars during a raid on Bezie’s residence.
According to court documents, the FBI’s Violent Gang Task Force initiated an investigation into Bezie after he brazenly displayed his gang affiliation and illegal wealth on social media. On March 23, 2023, agents executed a search warrant at Bezie’s home in the South Valley, where they found him with a loaded pistol, blue fentanyl pills, crystal methamphetamine, and thousands of dollars in cash.
The seizure from Bezie’s Hummer H2 alone included approximately 114,000 fentanyl pills. Investigators also discovered multiple firearms, body armor, and money counters during the raid. Inside, agents found a backpack with crystal meth near a semi-automatic rifle, and another pistol next to a bag of cash.
Bezie was already serving time at the Cibola County Correctional Center when he was charged with trafficking drugs, smuggling contraband, and participating in an assault on a correctional officer. He later pled guilty to multiple charges, including possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine, possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
In addition to his prison term, Bezie was ordered to forfeit $64,000 in cash, several vehicles, his Albuquerque residence, firearms, ammunition, and other personal property. He will also be subject to five years of supervised release upon his release from prison.
Acting U.S. Attorney Ryan Ellison and Acting Special Agent in Charge Philip Russell of the FBI’s Albuquerque Field Office announced the sentencing today. The case was investigated by the FBI’s Violent Gang Task Force with assistance from local law enforcement agencies.
