BUFFALO, N.Y. – A man has been brought to justice for a serious crime. Alejandro Mendez Flores, a 38-year-old citizen of Mexico, pleaded guilty to illegal re-entry of a removed alien in a United States court.
According to reports, Mendez Flores was physically removed from the United States in July 2019 after entering the country illegally. However, on April 30, 2025, he was found in Erie County, Western District of New York, after being caught.
The case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that aims to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, eliminate cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protect communities from violent crime.
Mendez Flores is an alien without any legal status in the United States. He faces serious consequences for his actions.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Colleen M. McCarthy stated that Mendez Flores is an alien without any legal status in the United States. A native and citizen of Mexico, he was physically removed in July 2019 after having illegally entered the United States.
Mendez Flores was sentenced to time served. He was then turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The investigation was conducted by Customs and Border Protection, under the direction of Director of Field Operations Rose Brophy.
