OMAHA, Nebraska – Amy Holmdohl, a 47-year-old resident of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced to 188 months in prison for her role in a methamphetamine conspiracy.

United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher handed down the sentence on January 22, 2025, in federal court in Omaha. The sentence marks the culmination of a lengthy investigation that uncovered Holmdohl’s involvement in distributing methamphetamine in the Omaha area.

According to court documents, the investigation began on December 2, 2022, when Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agents conducted a controlled delivery operation at the Holiday Inn Express in Omaha. The agents had been tracking a shipment of approximately 800 grams of methamphetamine that had been sent to the hotel via priority mail express packages.

An undercover Postal Inspector delivered the packages to an employee of the Holiday Inn Express, and later that day, surveillance officers observed Amy Holmdohl arrive at the hotel, enter the lobby, and pick up the two packages at the front desk. Holmdohl was subsequently taken into custody in the hotel lobby after she took custody of the packages.

During a police interview, Holmdohl admitted to her involvement in distributing methamphetamine and stated that she had requested the two packages be sent to her from a California source of supply.

Holmdohl’s sentence includes a 5-year term of supervised release, which will begin after she completes her prison sentence. The United States Postal Inspection Service and Drug Enforcement Administration investigated the case, and no parole will be granted in the federal system.
