Andre McIntosh, a 49-year-old St. Louis man, has pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.
On January 7, 2020, at approximately midnight, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department discovered that the license plate of an unoccupied vehicle was registered to McIntosh, who was a non-compliant sex offender on parole from the Missouri Department of Corrections.
McIntosh had several outstanding traffic warrants and refused officers’ requests to stop, leading him to run from the scene and discard a loaded .40 caliber Smith & Wesson firearm.
Following an investigation, McIntosh was detained by police and found to be in possession of fentanyl and methamphetamine, as well as a stolen firearm.
McIntosh’s prior convictions make him ineligible to possess a firearm, and he now faces sentencing for this latest offense.
United States District Judge Sarah E. Pitlyk is set to sentence McIntosh on May 13, 2021.
This case is a stark reminder of the dangers of felons possessing firearms and the importance of law enforcement working together to keep our communities safe.
