Jason Walker, Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute Cocaine Base, Connecticut 2018

Jason Walker, 30, of Ansonia, is headed for a federal prison cell after pleading guilty today to running a crack cocaine distribution ring across the Naugatuck Valley. The plea, entered before U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer in New Haven, seals Walker’s fate in a sprawling drug operation that kept the streets flooded with crack for months.

Walker admitted to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, cocaine base — commonly known as crack cocaine. According to court records, he was a core member of a tightly organized trafficking crew that operated with military precision, rotating shifts around the clock to service buyers from a single cellphone passed between members.

The investigation exposed the inner mechanics of the ring: members shared vehicles, coordinated deliveries, and serviced customers together, turning the Naugatuck Valley into a pipeline for addiction. Between May and September 2017, federal agents and local police executed multiple controlled buys, catching Walker and his associates red-handed in drug transactions.

Walker was arrested on November 15, 2017, and has remained in custody since. The Drug Enforcement Administration’s New Haven Task Force, working side-by-side with Ansonia and Derby Police, dismantled the network through wiretaps, surveillance, and informant cooperation. The operation revealed how deeply embedded the trafficking ring had become in the community.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 6, 2018. Walker now faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison. There will be no plea bargains, no second chances — just a reckoning in a courtroom that has seen too many like him.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jocelyn Courtney Kaoutzanis. As the feds close the book on this chapter, the streets may breathe easier — but the war on crack is far from over.
