Three New Haven men have been charged with federal narcotics distribution and firearm possession offenses.
Donell Alick, Jr., 23, also known as ‘D-Nice,’ Samuel Douglas, 24, also known as ‘Blamm,’ and Jourdin Senior, 30, also known as ‘G,’ all of New Haven, have been charged with federal narcotics distribution and firearm possession offenses.
A seven-count indictment was returned by a grand jury in Hartford on November 2, 2022, and the three defendants were arrested on November 10, 2022.
As alleged in an indictment and statements made in court, between April and October 2022, Alick, Douglas, and Senior conspired with one another, and with others, to distribute fentanyl and crack cocaine in the New Haven area.
In June 2022, Douglas was arrested on state charges after he was found in possession of narcotics while on state probation.
In September and October 2022, law enforcement made controlled purchases of fentanyl from Alick and Senior.
On October 24, 2022, investigators conducted a court-authorized search of a residence shared by Alick and Senior and seized three handguns, extended magazines, and quantities of fentanyl and crack cocaine, some of which was packaged for street-level distribution.
A related search of Alick’s car, which had been observed in suspected drug transactions, resulted in the seizure of another handgun, a 33-round extended magazine, and quantities of fentanyl and crack cocaine.
The indictment charges Alick, Douglas, and Senior with one count of conspiracy to distribute, and to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine base (‘crack cocaine’), and Alick and Senior with additional counts related to the distribution of narcotics.
These offenses carry a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years on each count.
The indictment also charges Alick with unlawful possession of firearms by a felon, an offense that carries a maximum term of imprisonment of 15 years, and one count of possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, an offense that carries a mandatory consecutive term of imprisonment of at least five years.
Alick, Douglas, and Senior are currently detained.
U.S. Attorney Avery stressed that an indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt.
Charges are only allegations and each defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
