Ansonia’s Graham Pleads Guilty to Fentanyl Distribution

ANSONIA, CT – DAQWON GRAHAM, 31, known by aliases ‘Seagull’ and ‘Energy,’ has been hit with a heavy charge as he pleaded guilty to trafficking fentanyl before U.S. District Judge Vernon D. Oliver in Hartford. The grim details of his crime emerged during court proceedings, where it was revealed that Graham distributed the deadly substance at a large scale within Fairfield County.

According to court documents, Graham’s actions are linked to two tragic overdose deaths. His drug trade led to the demise of a male victim in Branford in March 2023 and another female victim in Shelton in October 2024. In January and February 2025, investigators conducted multiple sting operations resulting in controlled purchases of fentanyl from Graham.

TheAnsonia resident’s downfall came on February 26, 2025, when he was apprehended on High Ridge Road in Stamford with over 400 grams of the illicit drug on his possession. This massive seizure underscores the severity of his crime and the threat he posed to the community.

Graham now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in federal prison, with life as the maximum penalty under the charge of possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl. His sentencing is set for October 16, where he will learn his fate for this deadly crime.

The Drug Enforcement Administration’s Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force and Stamford Police Department played pivotal roles in the investigation that led to Graham’s capture. The HIDTA Task Force, a collaborative effort involving personnel from various local law enforcement agencies, has tirelessly combated drug trafficking across Connecticut.

Graham remains in custody since his arrest. Assistant U.S. Attorney Lauren C. Clark is handling the prosecution of this case, ensuring justice for those affected by Graham’s fentanyl distribution ring.
