A senseless act of violence shook the streets of St. Louis on March 16, 2021, leaving two people dead and one injured in a triple shooting that has now led to a guilty plea from the mastermind behind the heinous crime.
Antaveon Bernard Le’Vell Kent, 22, a St. Louis native who went by the alias ‘Trauma Traumatized’ on Facebook, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute marijuana, attempt to possess with intent to distribute marijuana, and two charges of possession and discharge of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime that resulted in the fatal shootings of Kortlin Williams and Johnnie Jones.
The chilling details of the crime paint a picture of a premeditated attack. Kent, along with his co-defendant Demorion Little, planned to steal marijuana from the victims. They used social media to communicate and plan the robbery, eventually luring the victims to a meeting spot in the 1100 block of Montgomery Street, where they opened fire, shooting all three victims.
Police found 621 grams of marijuana in the victims’ vehicle, a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of the crime. Kent’s plea agreement details the extent of his involvement in the triple shooting, which has left the community reeling.
Kent’s guilty plea marks a significant development in the case, which has been under investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police. Demorion Little, the co-defendant, has pleaded not guilty to drug and gun charges, including a firearms charge that accuses him of the fatal shooting of Rocoby Rodgers on February 25, 2021.
The case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of gang-related violence and the devastating impact it has on communities. As the investigation continues, the people of St. Louis can take some comfort in knowing that justice is being served.
According to the plea agreement, Kent pleaded guilty to the following charges:
Conspiracy to distribute marijuana
Attempt to possess with intent to distribute marijuana
Two counts of possession and discharge of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime that resulted in the fatal shootings of Williams and Jones
The case is a sobering reminder of the importance of community vigilance and the need for continued support for law enforcement efforts to combat gang-related violence.
