Anthaney O’Connor, a 32-year-old Anchorage resident, has been sentenced to 70 months in prison and 20 years of supervised release for his role in trafficking child pornography. The disturbing case involves images of pre-pubescent children and AI-generated content depicting child sexual abuse.
According to court documents, O’Connor pleaded guilty on July 31, 2025, to receipt of child pornography, also known as child sexual abuse material or “CSAM.” He received CSAM from another offender, an active-duty Airman stationed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, who shared images of prepubescent children. The two planned to view CSAM together using a virtual reality system, with O’Connor even suggesting the use of real children’s images to create a virtual simulation.
The investigation revealed that O’Connor not only received and consumed these depraved images but also distributed them to other individuals. Furthermore, he possessed multiple images of obscene visual depictions of child sexual abuse created by artificial intelligence.
