Cold Case Murder Investigation Rocks New York
BUFFALO, N.Y. — A chilling crime has come to light in the Empire State, as a grand jury has returned an indictment against Anthony Neubauer, 36, of Falconer, NY, charging him with kidnapping resulting in death. This heinous crime carries a mandatory minimum penalty of life in prison.
According to authorities, the kidnapping occurred on May 27, 2014, when Neubauer allegedly abducted an individual identified as J.A. He then transported J.A. from New York to Pennsylvania, resulting in the victim’s death.
Neubauer was arraigned this afternoon before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy and is being held pending a detention hearing on March 28, 2023.
The investigation into this cold case was led by the Jamestown Police Department, under the direction of Chief Timothy Jackson, in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Miraglia.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and Neubauer is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
