Ponchatoula, LA – In a brazen heist, 25 handguns were stolen from The Tickfaw Auction Company, a federally licensed firearms dealer, in a burglary that occurred on April 8, 2016.

According to authorities, Antwon Seymore, a 19-year-old resident of Ponchatoula, has been charged with a single count of burglary of a federal firearms licensee. If convicted, Seymore faces a maximum of 10 years in prison, and/or a $250,000 fine, and 3 years of supervised release.

The case, investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives, Hammond Police Department, and Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, highlights the severity of gun thefts in the region. As Acting U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans noted, ‘an Indictment is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.’

Two additional defendants, Demarco Jones and Willie Walker, have also been charged in connection with the 2017 burglary.

Jones, a 22-year-old resident of Tickfaw, faces charges of possession of firearms as a convicted felon and a maximum of 10 years in prison, and/or a $250,000 fine, and 3 years of supervised release. Walker, a 21-year-old resident of Hammond, is accused of receiving stolen firearms and faces a maximum of 10 years in prison, and/or a $250,000 fine, and 3 years of supervised release.
