Apr Nicole Grizzard Sentenced for Methamphetamine Possession and Distribution

A 32-year-old Georgia woman has been sentenced for her involvement in a methamphetamine trafficking ring that operated in Louisiana.

According to court documents, Apr Nicole Grizzard, of Milledgeville, Georgia, played a key role in a plot to deliver half a pound of methamphetamine to an undercover DEA agent in Metairie in September 2014. Grizzard was accompanied by an individual named Allison Chriswell, who was also involved in the trafficking ring.

When Grizzard and Chriswell arrived in Metairie with the methamphetamine, they were arrested by DEA agents. Chriswell has since pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine and was sentenced to 96 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release and a $100 special assessment.

Grizzard, who previously pleaded guilty to two counts of a superseding indictment, was sentenced to time served – 10 months in jail prior to being released on bond – and five years’ supervised release. The U.S. District Judge Martin L.C. Feldman handed down the sentence.

U.S. Acting Attorney Duane A. Evans praised the work of the DEA in investigating the matter, stating that their efforts were crucial in bringing Grizzard to justice. Assistant U.S. Attorney Andre’ Jones was in charge of the prosecution.
