Armed Robbery at St. Louis McDonald’s

A brazen armed robbery rocked a St. Louis McDonald’s on September 18, 2019, leaving customers shaken and employees terrified. Ronald Scott, a former employee of the McDonald’s location at 1119 North Tucker, Missouri, and his co-defendant, donned masks and brandished a pistol as they robbed the restaurant.

The suspects made their getaway in a silver Chevrolet Impala, but their freedom was short-lived. A few days later, the Impala was stopped by St. Louis Metropolitan Police officers, who discovered a haul of incriminating evidence, including McDonald’s hats and a paycheck stub addressed to Scott.

An investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department led to Scott’s subsequent identification and arrest. On January 27, 2022, United States District Court Judge Stephen R. Clark accepted Scott’s guilty plea for knowingly robbing a commercial establishment and brandishing a firearm in furtherance of that crime.

The grand jury in the Eastern District of Missouri indicted Scott in August 2020. Sentencing for Scott’s crimes is set for May 10, 2022. The plea agreement details Scott’s involvement in the robbery, which was carried out with his co-defendant.

According to court documents, the McDonald’s robbery was a brazen and violent crime that left a lasting impact on the community. The suspects’ use of a firearm and masks only added to the gravity of their actions, putting customers and employees at risk of serious harm.

The case is a stark reminder of the importance of community vigilance and the role of law enforcement in keeping our streets safe. The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department are to be commended for their tireless efforts in bringing Scott to justice.

As Scott awaits sentencing, the people of St. Louis can take comfort in knowing that those responsible for this heinous crime will face the full weight of the law.
