A brutal assault on the Omaha Nation Indian Reservation has ended in a 24-month prison sentence for Walthill’s Arthur Marr, 48. Marr was sentenced on September 8, 2025 in federal court in Omaha, Nebraska, for assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
The federal system offers no parole, meaning Marr will serve the full 24 months behind bars. Following his release, he will begin a 3-year term of supervised release.
According to officials, Marr’s assault occurred in October 2024 when he repeatedly struck a man on the reservation, causing serious bodily injury, including broken bones and internal damage. The victim was hospitalized for two days, during which time Marr messaged the victim and threatened to come to the hospital and assault the victim again.
The case was prosecuted in federal court because the offense was a felony and occurred on the Omaha Nation Indian Reservation in Nebraska. The Federal Bureau of Investigation led the investigation into Marr’s actions.
Arthur Marr, Sr., was found guilty of assault resulting in serious bodily injury. He will now face the consequences of his actions, serving time behind bars and facing a period of supervised release.
As the people of Walthill and the Omaha Nation Indian Reservation look towards a safer future, they can take comfort in the justice being served in this case.
