Aryan Circle Member Pleads Guilty to Violent Assault
BEAUMONT, Texas – Anthony Levi Cochran, 39, of Bullard, Texas, has pleaded guilty to charges related to a violent assault in the Eastern District of Texas.
Cochran, a member of the Aryan Circle (AC) prison gang, admitted to assault resulting in serious bodily injury in aid of racketeering, as well as conspiracy to sell firearms to a convicted felon. The assault occurred in October 2016.
The assault was part of Cochran’s membership in the AC, a violent, white supremacist organization that operates in federal prisons across the country and outside prisons in states including Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Missouri.
The AC enforces its rules and promotes discipline among its members, prospects, and associates through murder, attempted murder, assault, and threats.
Cochran’s offense conduct included planning and participating in the events surrounding a violent beating of another AC member who wanted to switch his gang affiliation.
He faces up to 20 years in federal prison. Sentencing hearings will be scheduled after the completion of presentence investigations by the U.S. Probation Office.
Two others, Breanna Beckley, 40, of Moberly, Missouri, and Shane Louque, 46, of Gonzales, Louisiana, also pleaded guilty in connection with the case. Beckley and Louque pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance, namely 500 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing methamphetamine. They face up to life in federal prison.
The case is being investigated by an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) consisting of multiple agencies, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; Drug Enforcement Administration; Federal Bureau of Prisons; and Texas Department of Public Safety.
