Methamphetamine Conspiracy Rocks Baker County

A shocking case of methamphetamine distribution has come to light in Baker County, Florida, involving five individuals, including Ashley Chase Lee, 31, of Alma, Georgia. The group has been charged with conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of pure/actual methamphetamine.

According to the charges, the defendants supplied and distributed ounce quantities of crystal methamphetamine from an apartment in Macclenny, Baker County, Florida, starting in approximately May 2013.

Law enforcement officers with the Baker County Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration seized approximately 204.7 grams of methamphetamine, some of which was deemed to be 73.3% pure.

The investigation, led by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Baker County Sheriff’s Office, has resulted in plea agreements for three of the defendants: Robert Hartzog, 27, of Baker County; Garrett Follis, 27, of Baker County; and Archie Crook, 35, of Nassau County.

Hartzog, Follis, and Crook have pleaded guilty to their charges and are awaiting sentencing. The mandatory minimum term for each defendant is 10 years, with a maximum sentence of life in federal prison.

Ashley Chase Lee and Anthony Fisher, 35, of Baker County, are set for trial in September 2014, in Jacksonville.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Julie Hackenberry.
