Robbery Turns Deadly in Topeka, Kansas

Audley M. Crable, 28, of Topeka, Kansas, has been charged with commercial robbery and discharging a firearm in furtherance of a robbery.

According to the indictment, Crable robbed Mo’s Express at 810 Southeast 15th in Topeka on November 19, 2011. During the robbery, he allegedly fired a gun, severely injuring two employees.

If convicted, Crable faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 on the robbery charge. He also faces a consecutive sentence of not less than 10 years and a fine of up to $250,000 on the firearms charge.

The FBI and the Topeka Police Department investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jared Maag is prosecuting.
