Avon Man Sentenced for Child Pornography

A 32-year-old man from Avon, New York, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for producing child pornography. Timothy P. Glavin, 32, was convicted of production of child pornography and received a 15-year sentence, along with 15 years of supervised release, from U.S. District Judge David G. Larimer.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Tiffany H. Lee, Glavin used a minor under the age of 13 to produce images of that minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct. The images were discovered on the defendant’s cell phone in August 2012 by his wife, who reported them to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006. Project Safe Childhood aims to marshal federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.

The sentencing is the culmination of an investigation on the part of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge James C. Spero, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, under the direction of Undersheriff James Szczesniak, and the Livingston County District Attorney’s Office under the direction of Greg McCaffrey.

Glavin’s conviction and sentencing serve as a reminder of the importance of this initiative in protecting our children from exploitation and abuse. The efforts of law enforcement agencies and prosecutors in bringing these cases to justice are crucial in keeping our communities safe.

The case highlights the devastating consequences of child pornography and the need for continued vigilance in preventing its production and distribution. We must remain committed to identifying and holding accountable those who perpetrate these heinous crimes.
