Two women were ambushed and brutally attacked on October 20, 2025, after answering a fake babysitting job ad in Southeast D.C. The victims were dragged into a basement, stabbed, and bound with duct tape by a trio of predators, including a teen who orchestrated the heist from behind bars.
According to court documents, Cierra Charity Lee, 20, and Kayvon Edwards, 21, lured the victims to the residence near Suitland Parkway and Stanton Road SE, where they were met with a nightmare. Edwards had directed the attack from his jail cell, allegedly seeking to intimidate and silence a witness connected to a rape case.
Robynn Danielle Bynum, 18, pleaded guilty on April 16, 2026, to kidnapping and armed robbery. Lee and Edwards followed suit on [date], admitting to their roles in the heinous crime.
The victims suffered severe injuries, including multiple stab wounds and lacerations. One was stabbed several times in the back, while the other had knife wounds on her right wrist. Lee and Bynum bound the women with duct tape while they were restrained in a bathroom, where Lee interrogated one of the victims about a rape case pending against Edwards in Prince George’s County.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office vowed to continue holding accountable those who resort to violence and coercion to obstruct justice.
