Kenneth Brown, Child Pornography Possession, Iowa 2024

Badger, Iowa’s Kenneth Brown has been hit with a heavy charge, facing up to 20 years in the clink after pleading guilty to possessing child pornography. The 60-year-old was nabbed by law enforcement thanks to a CyberTip that led to a trove of 32 files being uploaded from his cell phone.

Sioux City federal court heard Brown’s plea on July 22, 2025. His transgressions spanned from May 2023 to April 3, 2024. A grim discovery during a phone exam found 27 videos and 28 images of the illicit material, including sadomasochistic acts and depictions of children as young as toddlers.

United States District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand will determine Brown’s fate after reviewing a presentence report, with Brown currently in the custody of the United States Marshal. He faces penalties that could include $250,000 in fines and five years of supervised release, with no parole available under federal law.

This case is a part of Project Safe Childhood, a Justice Department initiative since 2006 aimed at eradicating child sexual exploitation. Webster County Sheriff’s Office led the investigation, while Assistant United States Attorney Kraig R. Hamit is prosecuting the case.
