Bail Jumper Sentenced to 18 Months

Rochester, NY – In a shocking turn of events, Tryn Parker, a 40-year-old Rochester resident, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for failing to surrender for the service of a sentence.

Parker, who was convicted of conspiracy to commit bank fraud in August 2010, was originally sentenced to 30 months in prison. However, at his request, he was allowed to remain released on bail, pending his surrender to the United States Marshals Service or the Bureau of Prisons.

Unfortunately, Parker failed to surrender at the designated time and facility, leading to his arrest in February 2011 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. During his arrest, authorities discovered that he was using false identification.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Marisa J. Miller and Tiffany H. Lee, who handled the case, stated that Parker’s actions were a clear disregard for the law and the trust placed in him by the court.

U.S. District Judge David G. Larimer, who presided over the case, agreed, stating that Parker’s sentence would run concurrently with his original sentence of 30 months in prison.

The sentencing is the culmination of an investigation by the United States Marshals Service, under the direction of Marshal Charles Salina. This case serves as a reminder of the consequences of failing to comply with the law and the importance of upholding the integrity of the justice system.

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of New York, led by U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr., praised the efforts of the United States Marshals Service and the Assistant U.S. Attorneys who handled the case, stating that their work is a testament to their commitment to seeking justice and upholding the law.

This sentence brings an end to a long and complex case, but it also serves as a reminder that the justice system will not tolerate those who seek to evade their responsibilities and disregard the law.
