Baltimore’s streets just got a little safer as 23-year-old Sharif Northington heads to federal prison for the next 11 years. His crime spree included a string of armed robberies and a high-speed carjacking.
Northington and his crew targeted multiple businesses in Northeast Baltimore in November 2022, always armed to the teeth and demanding cash and valuables. Their luck ran out when they hit a 7-Eleven convenience store on November 29, 2022.
But the thieves’ getaway was short-lived. Inside the stolen cash was a money tracker that helped cops track their movements. On September 24, 2024, Northington’s luck turned from bad to worse when he threatened and assaulted Deputy U.S. Marshals at the U.S. Courthouse in Baltimore.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland announced the sentence, with special thanks to the ATF, USMS, BPD, and BCPD for their tireless efforts in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
