A Baltimore man’s penchant for violence landed him in federal prison after he was caught with a loaded ‘ghost gun’ and high-capacity magazine. Reginald Dargan, 34, was sentenced to three years in federal prison for possessing a firearm and violating the terms of his supervised release.
On November 8, 2024, Baltimore Police Department officers responded to a call for an aggravated assault at an East Baltimore residence. The victim, who had been assaulted by Dargan, told officers that he was also armed with a handgun.
When officers arrested Dargan, they found a Polymer 80 .40 caliber pistol with no serial number and a high-capacity magazine loaded with 13 rounds of ammunition in his waistband. Dargan’s prior convictions, including conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery, made him ineligible to possess a firearm or ammunition.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods and Project Safe Home, which aim to reduce violent crime and gun violence in the community. The sentence was announced by U.S. Attorney Kelly O. Hayes and Special Agent in Charge Charles Doerrer, ATF.
