A convicted felon is headed to federal prison for more than seven years after being caught with a loaded ghost gun and ammunition in his vehicle in Baltimore’s Aisquith Street neighborhood.
Sequan Branch-Green, 29, was stopped by Baltimore Police Department officers on January 10, 2024, who were responding to a report of an individual with an outstanding arrest warrant. A search of his vehicle turned up a Polymer 80 9mm Luger handgun, commonly known as a ‘ghost gun’ because it lacks a serial number and is untraceable by law enforcement, along with nine rounds of ammo and over 100 grams of packaged narcotics.
As a convicted felon, Branch-Green is prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition. He’s also on supervised probation for separate offenses in Carroll County and Baltimore City, and is facing violation-of-probation hearings in both jurisdictions.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence in communities across the country.
On May 26, 2021, the U.S. Department of Justice launched Project Safe Neighborhoods as a nationwide initiative to bring together law enforcement and local communities to reduce violent crime and gun violence.
