Allan Shaw, Possession of Firearm by Prohibited Person, Maryland 2024

BALTIMORE, MD – In a stunning turn of events, Allan Shaw, 36, of Baltimore, Maryland, has entered a guilty plea in federal court for Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition by a Prohibited Person. The charge stems from an incident on December 31, 2024, where Shaw was caught with 18 oxycodone pills and a 9mm semi-automatic handgun, both illegal due to his prior felony convictions.

According to the plea deal, federal agents watched as Shaw swapped drugs for cash in the heart of Baltimore’s 300 block of Monroe Street. Law enforcement officials specifically observed Shaw hand over a pill from an orange pill bottle to a customer before accepting payment.

Upon arrest, Shaw was already on supervised release following a previous conviction for Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition by a Prohibited Person. His latest offense violated the terms of his release, according to federal prosecutors.

The plea agreement stipulates that Shaw will be sentenced to between five to eight years in federal prison if the court accepts the deal. Sentencing is scheduled for January 5, 2026.

This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a Department of Justice initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence across the nation.

U.S. Attorney Kelly O. Hayes commended the ATF and Baltimore Police Department for their diligent work in this investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Alexander Levin is handling the federal case against Shaw.
