Baltimore, Maryland – Today’s grim headlines read that 35-year-old Brian Keith Adams, a resident of Baltimore, has been meted out a severe punishment for his heinous crimes. The federal judiciary has sentenced Adams to nine years in prison followed by five years of supervised release.
Adams, who stands accused of operating a firearms trafficking conspiracy and distributing methamphetamine, now faces the reality of justice served. His sentence was announced by U.S. Attorney Kelly O. Hayes, who stood alongside various law enforcement leaders during the sentencing ceremony.
The investigation into Adams began in December 2023 when ATF special agents suspected him of transporting firearms to Baltimore from North and South Carolina. It emerged that Adams, lacking a federal firearms license, was also prohibited from owning firearms. Between February and June 2024, Adams sold over 100 firearms and more than 100 grams of methamphetamine to an undercover agent.
During the height of his illegal activities, Adams went so far as to brandish a loaded firearm during one of the transactions. The case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a collaborative effort by all levels of law enforcement to reduce violent crime and gun violence.
The Department of Justice has been resolute in its commitment to PSN, which includes fostering trust within communities, supporting local organizations aimed at preventing violence, setting strategic enforcement priorities, and measuring the success of these initiatives. U.S. Attorney Hayes commended all agencies involved in the investigation for their relentless pursuit of justice.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Kim Y. Hagan was recognized for her pivotal role in prosecuting the case. For more information on the Maryland U.S. Attorney’s Office and its resources, the public is directed to visit www.justice.gov/usao-md and www.justice.gov/usao-md/community-outreach.
