A 33-year-old Bangor man was caught peddling fentanyl while enrolled in a court-ordered rehab program for a previous burglary conviction. Bradley Bellfleur, 33, was sentenced to six years in federal prison and five years of supervised release for conspiring to distribute fentanyl in the Bangor area.
According to investigators, Bellfleur was working with individuals from Massachusetts to obtain fentanyl for distribution in Maine. A search of his residence recovered fentanyl and trafficking paraphernalia, while phone records showed a steady stream of communications with his suppliers.
Bellfleur’s sentence comes after a guilty plea in July 2024. The case was investigated by the DEA, FBI, Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, Maine State Police, and the Bangor Police Department.
This prosecution is part of a larger effort to take down transnational criminal organizations operating in the United States. The Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) has been targeting cartels, gangs, and human smuggling rings in Maine and beyond.
