A narcotics conspiracy that peddled heroin, fentanyl, and methamphetamine in western New York has claimed another victim. Curtis Snyder, a 53-year-old Jamestown man, was sentenced to 84 months in prison for his role in the operation.
Snyder was an associate and co-conspirator of Rocco Beardsley, who sold large quantities of illicit substances in the Jamestown area. Beardsley was previously convicted and sentenced. The conspiracy was linked to the overdose death of an individual identified as J.A. in April 2019.
According to court documents, Beardsley sent Snyder to force another individual to make a video denying Beardsley’s involvement in the overdose death. In exchange, Snyder would receive a ‘bundle’ of heroin/fentanyl. The individual complied and made the video, stating that Beardsley was not present at J.A.’s residence on the date of the overdose.
The case was part of the Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) initiative, which targets transnational criminal organizations and human smuggling and trafficking rings operating in the United States and abroad.
