A Houston-based cartel was dismantled in 2021 when federal agents caught wind of a massive methamphetamine and fentanyl trafficking scheme spanning multiple states.
Prosecutors say Salvador Abraham Gomez, aka ‘Chop and Chief,’ was the mastermind behind the operation, which brought in at least 7,805 grams of methamphetamine and 4,900 grams of fentanyl.
Gomez, 45, was sentenced to 300 months in federal prison, while his associates Da Neang, Fernando Adalberto Vazquez-Pardo, Guillermo Alfredo Sisnados, and Ebony Barber received sentences ranging from 120 to 151 months.
U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs praised the Homeland Security Task Force for their work in taking down the organization.
