Helena Bros, Meth and Fentanyl Trafficking, California 2023

⏱ 3 min read

Helena brothers Austin Leon Timothy Hagman, 36, and Michael Wayne Hagman, 40, were slinging some of the deadliest stuff on the streets of Montana. They peddled methamphetamine and fentanyl, raking in huge profits. The duo’s operation was brought down by law enforcement in November 2024.

That’s when agents intercepted a two-pound methamphetamine package destined for the Hagmans’ Helena home. They got a search warrant and found a small arsenal, including several rifles, shotguns, and a stash of cash.

Austin Hagman copped to selling fentanyl powder for $200 a gram and meth for $450 an ounce. He claimed to have bought 20 ounces of fentanyl and four pounds of meth from his supplier. When cops asked about $5,000 found on his person, he said it was all from that one day’s sales.

Chief U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris handed down the sentences: Austin Hagman got 144 months and 10 years supervised release. Michael Hagman received 136 months and 5 years supervised release. The brothers will be serving their time for trafficking methamphetamine and fentanyl in Montana.
