Acehon King Aleidron, COVID Relief Fraud, Texas 2024

BEAUMONT, Texas – The grimy streets of Beaumont have been hit with a hard-hitting sentence for its own. Acehon King Aleidron, a 35-year-old man with aliases Cameron Alexander, has been nailed for his role in a $415,000 COVID-relief fraud scheme.

In a gritty turn of events, Aleidron pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and was slammed with a 57-month federal prison term by U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone on July 1, 2024. The judge’s order also demands Aleidron pay back the full $415,900.00 in restitution.

According to court documents, Aleidron hatched a fraudulent plan under the guise of The Fishing Factor, LLC, using a Beaumont address to secure funds from the Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act for COVID-19 pandemic relief. He filed numerous loan applications, pocketing the cash meant for payroll, utilities, rent/mortgage, and other essential business bills.

The scheme was wrapped up when Aleidron opened five bank accounts across four different banks to receive his ill-gotten gains. The government cracked down, seizing $186,413.78 from his accounts to partially cover the loss.

The COVID-19 pandemic brought about a flood of federal aid through laws like the CARES Act and Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program (EIDL). Aleidron’s case is a stark reminder that not all relief funds are meant for personal gain, as these programs were designed to help businesses survive economic turmoil.

For his deceitful actions, Aleidron faces years behind bars and a significant financial penalty. The case serves as a stern warning for those who might try to exploit the good intentions of federal aid programs during times of crisis.
