A Belleville man has been sentenced to prison for receiving and possessing child pornography.

Eric M. Swancutt, 39, was sentenced on January 27, 2017, to 97 months in prison on each count of Receipt of Child Pornography and Possession of Prepubescent Child Pornography. Swancutt was also ordered to pay a fine of $300 and a $300 special assessment. He had been in custody since his arraignment on June 24, 2016.

The review also showed that Swancutt received image and/or video files of child pornography via the Internet on July 18, and August 19, 2015.

Swancutt provided a voluntary statement on June 21, 2016, admitting to accessing and viewing child pornography. He admitted to viewing the child pornography on the laptop computer and downloading it while living in the Belleville residence.
