A former Internal Revenue Service employee has been convicted of stalking a female coworker in Berkeley County, West Virginia. Victor Anderson, 65, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, pleaded guilty to the charge in federal court today, announced United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II.

According to investigators, Anderson used the Internet and traditional mail to distribute letters, photographs, essays, and poems containing sexually explicit information about a female co-worker while he was employed at the Internal Revenue Service Computing Center in Martinsburg. The disturbing items were sent to the female co-worker’s supervisor, coworkers, relatives, neighbors, and other individuals within the United States government.

Anderson’s guilty plea is the result of a comprehensive investigation conducted by the United States Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration. Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Camilletti prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.

Anderson faces a maximum of five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 for his crime. The actual sentence will be determined by the court based on the seriousness of the offenses and Anderson’s prior criminal history, if any.
