GULFPORT, MS – Christopher Lee Parker, 36, of Biloxi, Mississippi, is facing over a decade behind bars after being sentenced for the vile crime of possessing child pornography. Parker received a 136-month prison sentence on April 12, 2024, in U.S. District Court, along with a lifetime of supervised release. This isn’t just about punishment; it’s about holding predators accountable and protecting the most vulnerable.
The sentence isn’t limited to incarceration. Judge ordered Parker to pay $31,000 in restitution to the victims of his depravity, alongside a $2,000 assessment mandated by the Amy, Vicky, and Andy Child Pornography Victim Assistance Act of 2018. While no amount of money can undo the harm, this aims to provide some support to those affected by this horrific abuse.
Federal investigators traced Parker’s sickening activity back to Cyber Tipline Reports from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. These reports flagged Parker as a user of social media accounts actively involved in the trading of child exploitation materials. A subsequent search of his Biloxi residence uncovered over 5,000 images and videos on his cell phones depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct – some of which involved children under the age of 12. The sheer volume of material paints a disturbing picture of a deeply ingrained obsession.
Parker was indicted by a federal grand jury in April 2023 and ultimately pled guilty on December 18, 2023, to the charge of possession of visual depictions of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct. This plea, however, doesn’t lessen the severity of his crimes. It simply acknowledges his guilt and allows the justice system to deliver a much-needed sentence.
U.S. Attorney Todd W. Gee and Acting Special Agent in Charge Eric DeLaune of Homeland Security Investigations announced the sentencing. The investigation was a collaborative effort, involving Homeland Security Investigations, the Cyber Crime Division of the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, and the Biloxi Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrea Jones skillfully prosecuted the case, ensuring Parker faced the consequences of his actions.
This case falls under Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 dedicated to combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. The Department of Justice, through this project, coordinates federal, state, and local resources to identify, apprehend, and prosecute those who prey on children online.
