WASHINGTON D.C. – A brazen late-night smash-and-grab at a 7-Eleven in Northeast D.C. has landed 31-year-old Kevin Bing of Washington D.C. with a four-year federal prison sentence. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced the sentencing today, stemming from a burglary that occurred back in March 2025. Bing, along with three still-unidentified accomplices, targeted the convenience store, leaving a trail of damage and stolen cash in their wake.
According to court documents, the crew hit the 7-Eleven in the 5200 block of 3rd Street Northeast on March 19, 2025. The store was closed for the night when Bing and his crew forced their way inside using a prybar. But they weren’t after Slurpees. They brought a hydraulic prying tool – a serious piece of kit – and used it to wrench open the store’s ATM, making off with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. As if that wasn’t enough, the crew also swiped a cell phone from a store employee before disappearing into the night.
Bing was picked up by the Metropolitan Police Department on March 20, 2025, and has been cooling his heels in jail ever since. He ultimately pleaded guilty on August 12, 2025, to one count of second-degree burglary, a charge that clearly resonated with Judge Jennifer Di Toro. The judge handed down the four-year sentence, to be followed by three years of supervised release upon Bing’s eventual return to the streets.
The investigation, led by the Metropolitan Police Department, revealed a calculated operation. The crew didn’t just stumble upon the 7-Eleven; they came prepared with the tools necessary to defeat security measures and extract cash. While the identities of Bing’s accomplices remain a mystery, authorities are hopeful this conviction will lead to further arrests. The stolen cell phone likely provided valuable evidence in the case.
U.S. Attorney Pirro and Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela Smith both praised the work of the investigators and Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Roberts, who skillfully prosecuted the case. The collaborative effort between the two agencies ensured Bing was held accountable for his actions. This case serves as a stark reminder that targeting local businesses won’t be tolerated in the nation’s capital.
