NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA – On a fateful August 18, 2023, a federal grand jury unsealed a two-count indictment against Blair Taylor, aka ‘Blood,’ a New Orleans resident. This marked the beginning of the end for Taylor, who is now facing severe consequences for his alleged heinous crimes.

According to the indictment, on or about August 10, 2014, Taylor knowingly used, carried, brandished, and discharged a firearm during a drug trafficking crime. This crime resulted in the deaths of two innocent victims. The indictment further alleges that the deaths of these victims, through the use of a firearm, constituted the crime of murder.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Inga Petrovich and Unit Chief Attorney Elizabeth Privitera, both of the Violent Crime Unit, are in charge of the prosecution. This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program designed to reduce violent crime and gun violence in our communities.

Taylor was arrested on September 20, 2023, in Norwich, Connecticut. He now faces a maximum term of life imprisonment, up to a $250,000 fine, up to 5 years of supervised release, and a mandatory special assessment fee of $100.

U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans reiterated that an indictment is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Evans emphasized that this case is a prime example of the efforts being made to make our neighborhoods safer for everyone.
