Jerry Ross, Fentanyl Trafficking, New Jersey 2024

Newark, N.J. – In a ruthless strike against the Bloods street gang, three members of the Sex, Money, Murder subset were sentenced to 108 months each for their roles in a drug trafficking ring. Jerry Ross, a/k/a ‘Molly’, Luis Delvalle, a/k/a ‘Lou’, and Joseph Ross, a/k/a ‘Rock’, have all been locked away for their involvement.

Jerry Ross was the ringleader of the operation, with Delvalle acting as manager and supplier. All three were charged with conspiracy to distribute large amounts of fentanyl, cocaine, and heroin, while Jo. Ross faced an additional charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Documents and court statements reveal that the trio and their co-conspirators operated an open-air narcotics market in Plainfield, N.J., under the watchful eye of law enforcement for several months. Through surveillance, controlled purchases, and phone records analysis, extensive drug trafficking activities were uncovered. Following raids and arrests, multiple firearms and drugs were seized.

In total, eight members of the conspiracy have pleaded guilty to related charges. Pernell White, Jaquay Bell, Andre Gaddy, Jacob Douglas, Tarrell Strond, and Tayeire Thomas are also serving sentences ranging from 36 to 48 months.

Acting United States Attorney Alina Habba emphasized the commitment to dismantling violent criminal street gangs like the Bloods. ‘These sentences serve as a clear message that if you engage in gang activity, we will find you, dismantle your operation, and prosecute you,’ she said.

Homeland Security Investigations Newark Special Agent in Charge Michael S. McCarthy echoed Habba’s sentiments, stating that violent criminals who poison communities with dangerous drugs would be held accountable. The investigation into the drug trafficking network was a relentless two-year endeavor aimed at protecting New Jersey families and the American public from such threats.
