SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – In a tough blow to the local drug trade, Neal A. Norles, 31, of Blue Springs, Missouri, was today sentenced in federal court to 30 years without parole for leading a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy.
Norles pleaded guilty on September 5, 2019, to possessing meth with intent to distribute and has been serving as a source for an organization that transported at least 13.28 kilograms of pure meth from California to Missouri.
The troopers of the Missouri State Highway Patrol made a significant seizure when they stopped Norles in Newton County on January 22, 2019. Inside his Dodge Charger, authorities found five vacuum-sealed packages totaling 2,384 grams of methamphetamine. The traffic stop occurred as he returned from Los Angeles.
Norles has also been linked to firearms and exchanges of drugs for weapons, further solidifying the violent nature of his operation. His social media posts, which depicted a life of violence and drug use, were introduced in court as evidence.
“Norles’s actions have contributed to the proliferation of methamphetamine in our community,” said Assistant U.S. Attorney Nhan D. Nguyen. “Today’s sentence ensures that he will no longer be a threat.”
This is not the first defendant to face justice in this case. Brent A. Tribble, 30, of Kirbyville, Missouri, was sentenced on March 5, 2020, to 24 years without parole. Others await sentencing.
