ST. LOUIS – The gritty world of federal crime has been rocked by the indictment of 57-year-old Timothy Lloyd Blaney from Pevely for producing child pornography. This chilling case, as per court documents, spanned from October 1, 2019, to August 14, 2020, where Blaney, an acquaintance of the child’s family, sexually exploited a four-year-old child and produced visual depictions of the abuse.
Blaney’s brutal actions have earned him a 15 years to life imprisonment sentence upon conviction, along with a maximum fine of $250,000. The accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in this heinous crime.
In a shocking turn of events, the young victim bravely told her parents about the abuse, thanks to which law enforcement agencies were alerted. Special Agent in Charge Richard Quinn of the FBI St. Louis Division emphasized the importance of parents engaging early with their children regarding appropriate boundaries and recognizing signs of abuse.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Pevely Police Department have been at the forefront of this investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jillian Anderson is the legal hawk handling the case with fervor.
In a call to action, law enforcement agencies are appealing for community assistance to identify any further victims in this despicable crime. The St. Louis Federal Bureau of Investigation can be contacted at 314-589-2500 for anyone who might have information.
“The majority of child sex abuse is committed by individuals known to the victim or the victim\’s family,” Quinn stated, underscoring the severity of this case and the need for community vigilance. This chilling tale serves as a stark reminder of the perils that lurk in the shadows.
