JEFFERSON CITY, MO – The dark underbelly of Columbia, Missouri has been exposed with the federal indictment of Sergio Antonio Dominguez-Gonzalez, 23, on charges of producing and distributing child pornography. The indictment, handed down today by a federal grand jury in Jefferson City, paints a sickening picture of exploitation and abuse.
According to the indictment, Dominguez-Gonzalez allegedly used a minor to create illicit images between February 1 and February 22, 2017. The charges don’t stop there; he’s also accused of then distributing this horrific material over the internet, further victimizing the child and spreading depravity.
Tom Larson, Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced the indictment, but stressed the fundamental principle of American justice. “The charges contained in this indictment are simply accusations, and not evidence of guilt,” Larson stated. “Evidence supporting the charges must be presented to a federal trial jury, whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.”

The case falls under the umbrella of Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative launched in 2006 by the Department of Justice specifically to combat the escalating epidemic of child sexual exploitation.
