CHARLOTTE, N.C. – In a major drug enforcement victory, Antoine Depray Jackson, 54, was today sentenced to 144 months in federal prison for distributing drugs and possessing a firearm as a felon. The sentence, announced by U.S. Attorney Russ Ferguson, was followed by three years of supervised release.
Jackson, a Charlotte resident, had been under investigation by law enforcement after being identified as a drug distributor in Mecklenburg, Lincoln, and Catawba County areas. A federal search warrant executed at his residence on October 4, 2023, resulted in the seizure of cocaine base and a loaded KAHR Arms model CT-45 pistol.
With prior criminal convictions disqualifying him from owning firearms, Jackson pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of a firearm by a felon on February 7, 2025. He is currently in federal custody and faces transfer to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
U.S. Attorney Ferguson expressed his gratitude for the collaborative efforts of the ATF, DEA, and Catawba County Sheriff’s Office in bringing this case to fruition. Special Assistant U.S. Attorney William Wiseman, a state prosecutor with the 26th Prosecutorial District, prosecuted the case on behalf of the federal government.
Wiseman, who is sworn in both state and federal courts, was assigned by District Attorney Spencer Merriweather to serve as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Charlotte. His role exemplifies the partnership between local and federal law enforcement in combating crime.
