Bobby D. Morrill, Jr. Methamphetamine Distribution, Illinois 2015
A White County man has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for his role in distributing highly pure methamphetamine in southern Illinois.
Bobby D. Morrill, Jr., 38, of Carmi, Illinois, was sentenced to 156 months in prison for distributing methamphetamine on four occasions in 2015. Morrill had previously pled guilty to distributing methamphetamine in Carmi on August 31st and September 8th, 9th, and 16th.
At the time of the four distributions, Morrill was on parole from the Illinois Department of Corrections after being sentenced in White County Circuit Court to 10 years in state prison in 2010 for possessing anhydrous ammonia with intent to manufacture methamphetamine.
As a result of his federal sentence, Morrill’s parole was revoked and he will remain in the Illinois Department of Corrections until April 2017. He will begin serving his federal sentence after that.
In addition to the 156-month federal sentence, Morrill was ordered to pay $700 in fines and special assessments to the United States and was placed on a 3-year term of supervised release to follow his incarceration.
The case was investigated by the Carmi office of the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force and the Illinois State Police and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney James M. Cutchin.
It is a stark reminder that those who commit crimes will face the full weight of the law. Morrill’s actions not only put his own life at risk but also endangered the lives of others in the community.
