Bowling Green, KY – A kingpin of the methamphetamine trade in Warren County, Kentucky, Joshua O. Duncan, 40, was sentenced to a staggering 18 years and 4 months in federal prison on August 26, 2025.
Duncan stood convicted of possessing with the intent to distribute over 500 grams of meth and more than 400 grams of fentanyl, as well as for firearms offenses. His arsenal included four handguns, all in violation of his previous felony convictions.
“Joshua Duncan is a longtime drug dealer that was given many chances to reform,” said U.S. Attorney Kyle Bumgarner. “Instead, he continued to flood our community with meth and fentanyl while armed.”
Duncan’s criminal history dates back to 2010, when he was first convicted of trafficking cocaine. His latest conviction stems from an incident on February 15, 2024, where he possessed nearly 5 kilograms of meth and over half a kilogram of fentanyl.
“This sentence is a testament to the collaborative efforts between local, state, and federal agencies,” said ATF Special Agent in Charge John Nokes. “We will continue our efforts to combat drug trafficking and violence in Central Kentucky.”
The investigation was conducted by the ATF Bowling Green Field Office and the Bowling Green/Warren County Appalachia High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (AHIDTA) Drug Task Force, with the case prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Mark J. Yurchisin II.
