ATLANTA – Jamaul Raheem Boyce, a violent criminal with a history of domestic abuse and multiple convictions, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for drug trafficking and firearm offenses. Boyce, a repeat offender, ran a drug ring from his Clayton County, Georgia apartment, where he lived with his girlfriend and her three young children.
‘Boyce is a violent felon and domestic abuser,’ said U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan, highlighting Boyce’s previous convictions for crimes including aggravated assault and stalking. ‘His disregard for others and the law is evident in his criminal history.’
The ATF played a pivotal role in the investigation, with Assistant Special Agent in Charge Beau Kolodka noting, ‘Through this cooperative effort, we were able to apprehend and successfully prosecute a violent and dangerous individual who posed a significant threat to the public.’
‘DCS provides individuals under our supervision the resources they need to succeed,’ said Brian Tukes of the Georgia Department of Community Supervision. ‘It is unfortunate that certain individuals choose not to take advantage of these opportunities and instead impose havoc within our communities.’
The Clayton County Police Department emphasized the importance of teamwork in this arrest, with Chief Kevin Roberts stating, ‘The arrest of Jamaul Raheem Boyce is the result of effective law enforcement teamwork at the state, federal, and local level. We will continue similar operations to apprehend dangerous criminals who operate in Clayton County.’
According to U.S. Attorney Buchanan, on June 21, 2019, a U.S. Marshals task force served a parole violation arrest warrant for Boyce at his apartment. Deputies found Boyce hiding with multiple loaded firearms and bulletproof vests, along with suspected drugs. Following the search, authorities discovered distribution quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, and assorted pills, as well as drug paraphernalia and firearms. Jamaul Raheem Boyce, 40, was sentenced to 30 years in prison followed by a life term of supervised release.
